Boy Scouts Build Pondless Waterfall

!: Boy Scouts Build Pondless Waterfall

Over 100 Boy Scouts particpated in pondless waterfall building at during a one week summer day camp this past July. As part of their daily Nature sessions, supervised and guided Aquatic Connections the Scouts with their project. The boys were split up into groups of 15 to 20 kids and the groups rotated in to help with the construction throughout pondless waterfall each day. The hill was scraped for them, forming the stream area and then the boys began the aquatic transformation. They dug, they hooked up the pump and the tubing, they installed the liner and they moved lots and lots of rocks! The Scouts saw their progress everyday as the pondless waterfall came to life. On the last day of camp, the Boy Scouts and their parents were excited as the waterfall pondless was turned on and the waterbegan to flow down the stream. It amazed them that the water disappeared into the ground and re-appeared at the top of the waterfall. Great job Scouts!
